A + J’s Beautiful Proposal at Guild Park and Gardens
Back in May 2021, I had the honour of photographing a moment that was nothing short of magical — A + J’s proposal at the stunning Guild Park and Gardens in Scarborough, Ontario.
Being a Halton Hills photographer, it was such a refreshing change of scenery to capture this love story in a completely different setting. Guild Park is known for its gorgeous stone architecture, lush greenery, and that perfect mix of nature and history — and it couldn’t have been a more romantic spot for a proposal.
When I arrived, the scene was absolutely breathtaking. The marquee “MARRY ME” letters, beautifully decorated by the talented team at A Mean Event, set the stage for what would become an unforgettable evening. The details were elegant yet simple — exactly the kind of setup that lets emotion take centre stage.
As A led J toward the display, you could feel the anticipation building. The look on J’s face when she realized what was happening was pure joy — one of those moments where time seems to stand still. After the “yes” came laughter, happy tears, and a whole lot of celebration.
Capturing proposals like this is always such a privilege. There’s nothing quite like being trusted to document the exact moment two people decide to spend forever together.
